Happy Halloween, I feel your pain 😊

First I wanted to wish each of you a Happy Halloween.  The picture above is from my pumpkin adventure with my kids.  On the left is what the pumpkin carving package shows, on the right is the actual end product.  What happened to the days of cutting out two eyes and a mouth with a knife?  Now as parents we are all expected to make the Mona Lisa of pumpkins all using a 1 inch “precision carving tool”.

Fellow parents, I feel your pain.  My kids got to pick out what they wanted on their pumpkins. They sure didn’t go easy on me, but really how hard could it be, the package came with a picture that stuck to the pumpkin and  a precision carving instrument.  I open the package only to find the “precision carving device” was a 1-inch piece of crap that could barely penetrate the pumpkin.  I then spent two hours tracing the picture only to figure out that it is physically impossible to pop out the lettering that I just traced without totally deforming the pumpkin.  After I gave it my all the only word that you could kind of make out was trick…. Quite ironic.  I hope each of you have a great Halloween.
